mugshot.jpgLondon Theatre Blog was founded by Andrew Eglinton in January 2006 whilst doing an MA course in Writing for Performance at Goldsmiths College. Still currently based in London, Andrew is a PhD student at Royal Holloway, researching documentary drama; he also works at Rose Bruford College’s Research Office. (Click here if you would like to get in touch.).

The Idea

The idea for London Theatre Blog came from a simple passion for theatre. To experience and create theatre, but also to write about it and disucss it with others. LTB is a platform for the intellectual exploration of contemporary performance in London and beyond. The site offers a wide range of material from performance reviews, news, analysis, interviews with practioners, events and academic and practical resources.

London Theatre Blog aims to stimulate discussion, provide information to anyone with an interest in performance-based work and to become a pillar in the growing network of theatre and performance blogs and sites on the Internet.

In late 2007 LTB began to branch out and accept a number of contributions from guest authors This extended to bringing onboard regular contributing authors. It is this diversity of voices, expertise and interests that makes LTB a unique website.

Publishing & frequency

At the top of the home page you’ll find the site’s most recent entry followed by three of the most recent posts to the right. Moving down you’ll find a stream of past content and various options in the right hand column. LTB tries to publish a minimum of two new pieces of work every week.

Guest writers

One of the goals that has emerged in running London Theatre Blog is to diversify its authorship and invite ‘guest writers’ to contribute ‘one-shot’ feature articles, but also to bring onboard regular contributors. If you’re interested in submitting an article or becoming a regular contributor you can find more information and a contact form here.
