Group authored publication covering theatre and the performing arts in London and beyond
General Overview
Since the site opened its doors to multiple authors back in early 2007, London Theatre Blog has been fortunate to publish some brilliant one-off contributions from guest writers, often writing about their own personal area of expertise. It has also attracted some talented regular contributors who submit material of their choice on a weekly or monthly basis.
Several contributors have used LTB as a platform to launch their own personal writing projects such as Matt Boothman’s coverage of the Edinburgh Fringe 2008 and Jens Peter’s chronicles of a theatre festival in Tiblisi, Georgia.
In short, LTB supports a wide range of authors, helps promote their work, expects challenging and quality content and nurtures new initiatives.
What’s in it for you?
LTB is a non-funded publication and cannot offer financial remuneration at this point. What we can offer is the unique opportunity to expose your work through an established and respected publication; we can arrange complimentary press tickets for show reviews at most UK venues; and we can help promote your work through our site and its affiliated networks.
Each regular contributor is given an optional profile page with space for some biography information, a link to a website and a point of contact. All contributors, either one-off or regular, retain intellectual copyright over their work.
Contributors also get access to the LTB Member Lounge, an exclusive area for the exchange of ideas and information.
Content
The type of work you choose to submit is entirely at your discretion. Past submissions include show reviews, play text reviews, excerpts from research papers, short essays, interviews with practitioners, criticism and commentary, contextualised excerpts from new writing, audio interviews, videos and more. We are now in an era of the Web that allows for real-time, multimedia content, so non-text based submissions are also encouraged.
Guidelines for prospective contributors are as follows:
So if you’re passionate about the performing arts, looking for an outlet for your work and can deliver to a high standard, this is an excellent opportunity to get involved.
